Chris Connally was born in Miami Beach and grew up in Broward County, Florida. In 1996, he earned degrees in both Communications and Criminal Justice from the University of South Florida. He obtained his law degree from Nova Southeastern University in December of 2000.
Presently, Mr. Connally manages both the Bodily Injury and Property Damage – West Palm Beach Divisions for the Firm. In doing so, he represents several large insurance carriers and their insureds associated with automobile accidents, as well as residential property damage claims, across the State of Florida from inception through jury verdict and every aspect in between.
For the last 7.5 years, prior to joining Gobel Flakes as a partner in December of 2023, Mr. Connally focused on first party property damage claims for a total of 6 insurance carriers while having handled an extensive case load and having managed the firm’s property damage division, including a total of 10 attorneys during that time frame.
During his 23 plus years of practice, Mr. Connally litigated in the area of insurance defense with an emphasis on both personal injury and first party property matters. He gained extensive litigation and jury trial experience, including having tried approximately 20 cases to verdict. He represented numerous carriers both in and out of the State of Florida in both bodily injury, as well as first party insurance defense matters, including complex hurricane, wind, flood, water, mold, fire, and bad faith claims plus also having handled various coverage claims and declaratory judgment actions.
He served as in-house counsel for a large insurance company for 5 years defending a wide variety of personal injury, first party property, third party property and commercial litigation cases in 10 different counties throughout Florida. During that time, he worked closely with claims professionals and developed a reputation for responsiveness. Earlier in his career, Mr. Connally tried more than 60 bench trials as a Guardian ad Litem Program Attorney representing volunteer Guardians on behalf of Broward County’s abused, neglected and abandoned children. He also represented family law attorneys for the Guardian ad Litem Program in family law matters including dependency, family, matrimonial, and elder law proceedings. He served as a County Mediator from 1998 through 2006 for the 17th Circuit facilitating settlements in various cases ranging from first party property matters to contract disputes.
Mr. Connally is a past President of the Broward County Bar Association-Young Lawyers’ Section and served on the Board for 5 years. He is a member of the Broward County Bar Association, the Palm Beach County Bar Association, the American Bar Association (ABA), Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA) and Defense Research Institute (DRI). He is currently President of a youth football league in Palm Beach County where he and his boys have been part of that league for 15 years. He is married to Elizabeth Connally, who is also attorney, and they have a 19-year old son, Bryce, at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and a recently turned 18-year old high school senior, Devin, who will soon make a decision on where he will further his studies, while playing college football.
