Julien W. Maynard was born in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. He graduated from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, with a Bachelor’s degree in History and Sociology. During his tenure, he became deeply involved in contributing to the progression of his community by serving as a Co-Director for the African & African-American Mentoring Program for two years, Vice President of the Black Student Alliance, and Member-At-Large of the University President’s Council on Black Affairs.
Julien earned his juris doctor degree cum laude from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University College of Law. While at FAMU, his peers and colleagues elected him to serve as President of the Student Bar Association and the Gwendolyn Cherry Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta International Law Fraternity. The Dean of the College of Law appointed Julien to serve as a member of her Student Advisory Committee and COVID-19 Task Force Team. Julien researched for Torts Professor Jeffrey Brown, tutored Constitutional Law II and Trusts Administration, and was awarded three book awards (highest grade in class).
Before joining Gobel Flakes, Julien practiced employment law and general liability defense, including personal injury protection, uninsured motorist, bodily injury, and property, as well as the investigation and litigation of fraudulent insurance claims. He is barred in all Florida state courts, the Middle District, and the Southern District of Florida.
